Chhaya is proud to offer free tax preparation services to community members at our Richmond Hill location. To qualify, filers must be earning under $80,000 with dependents or under $56,000 without dependents.

Chhaya can assist with 2022 tax returns only. We cannot assist with prior years’ taxes. 

An appointment is required to have your taxes prepared. Appointments are scheduled on this site only.  We do not accept walk-in appointments nor will we schedule you for an appointment in person. You must book your appointment online. Before scheduling your appointment, confirm that you have the required documents below. 

Required documents for tax preparation:

• Your valid photo ID
• Social Security cards for everyone on return (yourself and all dependents)
• All Forms W-2 from your employer(s)
• All Forms 1099 from banks or other agencies such as 1099-G (unemployment), 1099-R (retirement), 099-DIV (dividends), 1099-INT (interest), etc.
• 1099-K, 1099-MISC or W-2 from gig work
• Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement (healthcare.gov)
• Other income documents related to virtual currency
• List of expenses if you are self-employed
• Your bank account number and routing number (if you want direct deposit)
